Metal Plates are used in a variety of situations ranging from permanent UIDs and barcodes to control panels and data plates. We have many different solutions from you to choose from:
OEMs, up-fitters, manufacturers, and suppliers use control panels to label controls that are present on products and/or equipment. You will give your product a professional look that will make them stand out amongst the rest while giving them attractive functional properties and easy to read guideline instructions for the end user.
Generally speaking, a control panel of this type will be made out of a durable, rigid material like aluminum, steel, or plastic. The reason for this is to that they can be mounted directly to the plate or other surface they need to be affixed to.
Here at Dixie Signs & Decals, we are able to not only custom cut and print directly on your control panel front, but we can do it without having to apply a label or overlay. This option could save you quite a bit of money, and while your product may have some properties that won't allow us to print your control panel this way we can always still use an overlay instead.
Identification plates that are made with photosensitive anodized aluminum (Metalphoto) are different from the ones produced on every other substrate in two distinctive ways – Metalphoto plates are defined by GPI as the most durable of aluminum ID plates and they are capable of clearly holding the highest graphic resolution of all metallic substrates.
Metalphoto also meets the MIL-STD-130 standard for government and military markings as well as several other exacting specifications and standards. (See bottom the table marked "Metalphoto meets or exceeds Government & Industry specifications"). If you want an ultra-resilient, high quality plate then a Metalphoto ID plate is for you.
In addition to this, Metalphoto also is extremely useful for durable barcodes and serialized UID plates. Extreme weather and environmental conditions make other ID markings falter and fade where a Metalphoto plate stands up to them and does so while looking great for years at a time.
You will be presented with a wide variety of options that will let you customize your Metalphoto plate to your exact specifications. These options include metal thickness, finish, mounting method, custom shapes and sizes, and imprint color options. See the following chart for available options:

A Metalphoto plate has a resilient structure that is unique to any other aluminum identification plate available today.
Layer 1 is a sapphire hard anodized layer that gives the plate a superior abrasion resistance, resistance to acid, and other chemical corrosion, etc.
Layer 2 is where the sealed image sits and it is made up of metallic particles beneath a Layer 1 which allows it to stand up to exposure to UV rays and extreme temperatures.
Layer 3 is where the aluminum comes in. It is available in a wide variety of thicknesses and finishes to meet your design and function needs.

An adhesive backed name plate is line with a pressure sensitive adhesive that will adhere strongly to most flat, smooth surfaces. Our name plates are screen printed with extremely durable enamel that is baked onto the plate to ensure it stays put and endures.
Adhesive backed plates are perfect for labeling all manner of equipment and/or machinery. In order to provide additional resistance to most chemicals, abrasion, fading, and weathering we can cover these plates with a protective polyurethane coating.
Foam backing gives our metal nameplates the ability to adhere well to textured surfaces. We use durable enamel that is baked onto each nameplate during the screen printing process to ensure a long life.

Foam embossed nameplates are extremely attractive because of their 3-dimensional characteristics. Certain parts of the plate are raised or embossed to make them stand out to catch the viewers' attention. We also use a thick foam adhesive that serves two purposes.
3D characteristics make quite a few things appear more attractive and our foam embossed nameplates are one of those things. Certain areas of your design will be embossed (or raised up from the surface) in order to stand out and catch attention. Secondly, we will use a thick foam adhesive that will give the nameplate extra dimension over and above the embossing and to ensure that the plate will hold with maximum adherence to both smooth and textured surfaces. The texture can be as fine as sandpaper or as detailed and difficult for adherence as tread or diamond plating.

These nameplates are also screen printed with a polyester ink that is baked into the nameplate to ensure a long life.
If you need to label equipment or machinery and you want to enjoy extreme durability and long life then an etched nameplate could be a perfect solution for you.
Our etched plates are etched in an acid bath solution which will burn your design into the plate. This process makes the nameplate resistant to abrasion, most chemicals, fading, and weathering.
These data plates are screen printed to ensure durability and long life. To further the durability we use enamel that is baked onto the plate to ensure maximum adherence and lengthen the life of the plate.
These data plates are excellent for use on equipment and/or machinery that you need to list serial numbers, model numbers, weight limits, and other such information.
Each of our screen printed data plates is, after your information is applied, is then coated with a polyurethane finish that gives the data plate additional resistance to abrasion, most chemicals, fading, and weathering.
Each of our screen printed nameplates is done with durable enamel that we bake onto the plate to ensure maximum life and adherence. We can cover these name plates with an ultra-resistant polyurethane coating that will make them resistant to abrasion, fading, weathering, and most chemicals. These nameplates are excellent for when you need to label equipment and machinery.
